This is a reference library of pollen types with information about their size and taxonomic position. NB : the volume data have not been used.

Pollen_name
= pollen name as used in the different dataset including errors, typos etc... -
Pollen_type
= clean pollen categories to be used (with some groupings) -
Pollen_familly
= Botanical fammily of the pollen species -
Pollen_code
: short code forPollen_type

Polar_ref
andequatorial_ref
= range of known sizes + letter providing the source of information (see below) -
p
= polar size effectively used (for ranges we used the mean of the extreme values) -
q
= equatorial size -
vol
= volume of the ellipsoid calculated from r & q as 4/3 * r/2 *(q/2)^2 -
r
= mean radius used by louis to calculate the volume as a sphere -
vol_r
= volume used by Louis based on r
