crown board

Class Definition

Board made of wood or other material, used as inner cover and positioned on top of a hive between the top supers and the roof (outer cover). It is used to close the hive and help the bees to maintain the hive temperature. Depending on the construction, it may also be used in conjunction with a bee escape to remove bees from supers or containa centre hole to be used with a feeder.
