behavioural trait

Class Definition

[Behavioural traits][...] are increasingly important in so far as animal welfare is concenrned. They include not only the obvious ones such as herding ability in sheepdogs, but also docility in most species as well as response to stress. The ability of a sheepdog to herd sheep depends, for example, not only on the dig but also, in part, upon the instinct of sheep to flock together.
