NUTS code

Definition

A 3 to 5 digit code with the following structure: It begins with a two-letter code referencing the country, which is not necessarily identical with the alpha-2 code in ISO 3166-1. Each of three possible subdivision of the country are then referred to with one additional number from 1 to 9, or a latin capital letter where a subdivision has more than nine entities.
