median lethal concentration (LC50)
Definition
LC50 (median Lethal Concentration) is a statistically calculated concentration of a substance that can cause death in 50 % of the test organisms at the end of the test period. It is expressed in e.g. mg or μg active ingredient or formulated product per kg food.
