Abstract

The data contains results on the assessment of colony development in control groups of a field trial near Pforzheim, Germany from May 2016 to March 2017. Hive weights were recorded daily at 11:30 from 2016-05-25 to 2016-10-12 and on 2017-03-24. Colony assessments (number of adult bees, number of brood cells, number of cells with food) were made at irregular intervals of 4 to 28 days from 2016-05-25 to 2016-10-12 and again after overwintering on 2017-03-27. Varroa infestation was measured once, in October 2016.
