Abstract

The data contains results on the assessment of colony development in control groups of a field trial near Pforzheim, Germany from May 2018 to April 2019. Hive weights were recorded daily between 10:00 pm and 2:00 am at the next day from 2018-05-26 to 2018-10-30 and on 2019-04-19. Colony assessments (number of adult bees, number of brood cells, number of cells with food) were made at irregular intervals of 6 to 16 days from 2018-05-23 to 2018-10-31 and again after overwintering on 2019-04-09. Varroa infestation was measured once, in October 2018. Analyses on the presence of honey bee viruses were made on samples collected in June 2018 in 2 colonies.
