glucose oxidase

Definition

Glucose oxidase is an enzyme that catalyses the following reaction: beta-D-glucose + O2 = D-glucono-1,5-lactone + H2O2. It is a natural component of honey. In honey bees, glucose oxidase is secreted by the hypoharyngeal gland. It is described by the following attributes or identifiers:
